This Thursday, 25th July, Instituto Superior Técnico and Huawei signed a protocol that aims to support the training of MSc students in the area of Telecommunications Engineering.
Huawei, which operates in Portugal since 2004, joins the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC), aiming to help students developing their master’s theses. Técnico students will have the opportunity to learn from high-qualified professionals from Huawei.
Técnico and Huawei intend to develop projects within telecommunications engineering, a fastest growing area.
“Técnico is one of the best Portuguese engineering schools”, says the president of Técnico, professor Arlindo Oliveira. Therefore, “this proximity to business reality, particularly with top companies that invest in Research & Development, is a valuable input that will provide our students the right skills to face the labour market”, adds the president of Técnico.
“This protocol reinforces the company’s commitment to the country and to the training of young talents in Portugal. These partnerships are essential to enhance students’ skills and to prepare them for the labour market. We intend to promote knowledge transfer and its application in order to develop society”, says Tony Li, the CEO of Huawei Portugal.
