Pedro Dias, a student of Applied Mathematics and Computing at Instituto Superior Técnico, was the winner of the 5th edition of the Kearney Excellence Award 2022/2023, for his excellent academic performance in the Probability and Statistics Curricular Unit, in the 2022/2023 academic year, having obtained a final grade of 20. The award, worth 1535 euros, aims at awarding and promoting the academic excellence of Técnico students in this Curricular Unit.
“This curricular unit is very important as well as all the work carried out throughout the semester, and its application in the real world”, highlighted the winner at the ceremony, held on October 3, at Alameda campus.
The work carried out by the professors was also highlighted during the ceremony. A donation of 1023 euros was awarded to the Department of Mathematics (DM) to improve teaching quality and learning.
Cláudia Nunes, vice-president of the Department and the professor responsible for the curricular unit, thanked the company for the donation and the award: “this award allows us to prepare for new challenges. It’s an incentive and a help to improve the quality of the curricular unit and teaching”.
Ana Pedroso, Kearney’s Principal in Lisbon, also highlighted the important role of the company’s partnership with Técnico: “At Kearney we highly value excellence, merit and academic commitment. That’s why we value the relationship we have with Técnico.”
