On March 7, about twenty Técnico students got together in the Civil Engineering Building, at Alameda campus, for a real tech battle. The “Tech Battle Celfocus” is an initiative powered by Celfocus, a technology company member of Técnico Partner Network, in collaboration with the Computer Science and Engineering Student Group at Instituto Superior Técnico (NEIIST). The event was held for the first time at Técnico and included an innovative idea: a battle of ideas based on three different topics related to technology and programming, between two groups of enthusiasts, who shared their views and opinions on key technological challenges with the audience.
The battle focused on topics such as Low Code, Custom Development, Open Source, among many others, and was moderated by Pedro Crespo, from Celfocus, with the participation of Tiago Chaves and Gonçalo Damião, also from Celfocus, who supported the Técnico students Pedro Chaparro and Pedro Martins (Computer Science and Engineering).
Much discussion, pros and cons of the new technology trends contributed to a fruitful debate in a relaxed and casual environment.
The event ended with a coffee break and networking session between Celfocus employees, the Tech Battle participants and audience, after the awards ceremony.
