Técnico will refresh its visual identity from January 2026

The Graphic Standards Manual outlines the rules for using the institutional image and reorganises the Técnico brand architecture.

From January 2026, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, will implement a new set of graphic standards for its institutional image. The guidelines are set out in the Técnico Graphic Standards Manual, approved by the Governing Board, and will apply to all communication contexts within the School.

The refreshed graphic image clearly emphasises the institutional connection between Técnico and Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa). The manual also reorganises the architecture of sub-brands associated with various thematic areas, outlining guidelines for their identification and relationship with Técnico’s main brand.

The School’s brand identity is Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, with the abbreviations Técnico ULisboa or Técnico.

Additionally, the manual standardises references to Técnico’s three campi – Alameda Campus, Oeiras Campus, and Loures Campus (Tecnológico e Nuclear Campus) – to ensure a consistent institutional presence across all communication media.

The Técnico Graphic Standards Manual provides the rules for applying the visual identity, which includes logos, typography, colours, and usage examples. This manual will serve as the primary reference for all institutional communication from 2026 onwards. Additionally, templates for PowerPoint presentations and wallpapers, among others, will be made available.

The Communication, Image, and Marketing Unit will hold a webinar for the Técnico community to provide guidance on how to effectively use these resources. The webinar is scheduled for January 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
