Unite! launches networking sessions aimed at faculty and staff

The initiative promotes the sharing of experiences and collaboration among the nine universities in the Unite! alliance.

The European University Alliance Unite!, of which Instituto Superior Técnico, through Universidade de Lisboa, is a member, is launching Unite!’s Networking Hubs, designed for academic and administrative staff from Unite! Universities. The first session took place on 21 October 2025.

Unite!’s Networking Hubs are a virtual space where all faculty and staff from the nine universities in the Unite! alliance can meet informally and discuss a topic proposed in advance. In these hubs, colleagues can connect and engage with peers facing similar challenges and share best practices.

The sessions will take place online from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month and will be a space for discussing a wide range of topics related to teaching, research, academic management, IT, and human resources, among others. Participants are invited to propose topics for discussion and apply to host a session.

The upcoming sessions are as follows:

  • November 18 – “Community Building at our Universities: Sharing Initiatives and Experiences”
  • December 16 – “Long-term online courses: practical aspects, student engagement, and workload”
  • January 20, 2026 – “Quantum Computing in Education”
