The Xpand IT scholarships award ceremony 2022/2023 took place on 11th January, at Técnico – Alameda Campus, in the Civil Engineering Museum.

The scholarship holders took the opportunity to thank the Técnico spin-off. “These scholarships allow us to focus on our studies to the fullest”, stressed André Gonçalves, whose scholarship was renewed. Daniela Castanho highlighted “the personal growth achieved from the volunteer work”, which is required by the scholarship programme. Bernardo Sousa and João Silva made their debuts as scholarship holders.

The event was chaired by the Vice President of Técnico for Academic Affairs, professor Alexandre Francisco, who thanked Xpand IT “for trusting the Técnico students” and congratulated the students.

The “Xpand IT, Missão Aproximar – Educação” scholarship programme aims to reward the academic merit of Técnico students (Computer Science and Engineering) from low-income families.
