Since the beginning of July, several Técnico students have been participating in the European Universities Championships (EUC), a set of university sports competitions governed by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). Several teams from various European universities are competing in the EUC, including the Técnico Students’ Union (AEIST).
The AEIST women’s tennis players participated in the championship organised by the University of Granada, in Spain, from 3rd to 9th July, and won 13th place. The AEIST Men’s table tennis players participated in the championship organised by the Palacký University Olomouc, in the Czech Republic, from 4th to 9th July, and ranked 9th.
The EUC kicked off in Tirana, Albania, on 25th June with the European Universities Football Championship. Until now, Técnico has participated in the two championships mentioned above. More AEIST teams are expected to participate in other competitions throughout the summer:
• 3×3 basketball, in Debrecen, Hungary, 15th – 19th July;
• Combat sports, in Zagreb, Croatia, 20th – 23rd July;
• Futsal, in Split, Croatia, 18th – 26th July;
• Beach handball, in Málaga, Spain, 20th – 23rd September.
