In a context where the risks associated with information security and data protection are becoming increasingly relevant for organisations, it is essential that non-technical professionals develop a solid understanding of the main concepts, challenges, and best practices in this area.
This programme presents the latest and future trends in data protection and covers the key digital skills that non-technical business professionals should learn to understand in detail how current IT systems work and the technical aspects of data protection, thus enabling them to best respond to future challenges.

Objectives:
- Master the main current information and communication technologies, from hardware to software, including databases, internet and networks;
- Understand and apply tools, methods and technologies to solve specific information security and data protection problems;
- Be able to design, apply and maintain appropriate privacy policies, documentation and security and protection processes;
- Be able to assess risks to information security and data privacy, as well as identify and implement best practices regarding the identification of risks related to data processing.
Target Audience:
All professionals with non-technological backgrounds who have responsibilities in activities involving, or requiring, information security and data protection (such as DPOs and lawyers) and professionals who interact with information technology teams with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Prerequisites:
There are no specific prerequisites for this course. The course is taught in Portuguese, but it is important that, to make the most of the knowledge that will be transmitted, participants are comfortable with technical literature in English. The recommended bibliography for the course is written in English.
