Instituto Superior Técnico (Técnico/IST) created this award in 2016 to promote Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo’s outstanding contribution as engineer, alumna and national leader with a decisive role and impact on Portuguese society.
The award aims to recognise and reward annually two women graduated at Técnico (alumnae):
i) a former student who has completed her studies at IST for over 15 years, by 31st December 2020, and who has made outstanding contributions throughout her professional career;
ii) a recently graduated from IST, under 27 years by 31st December 2020, whose Master’s thesis has been distinguished for its scientific quality and whose academic performance at IST has been remarkable.
Nominations for the former student may be submitted by any member of Técnico community, including alumni, until September 15, at 23:59. The nominations must be sent to the email PremioMLP@tecnico.ulisboa.pt and must include a curriculum vitae of a maximum of one page (A4 paper format).
Applications for the Award to the recent graduate are open from 6th July 2021, at 00:00, to 15th September 2021, at 23:59, and should be submitted online – bit.ly/pmlp2021. The winner will receive a €5000 award, sponsored by FilStone.
The winners of this edition will be announced in October 2021 and the award ceremony is expected to take place in November 2021.
