MOOC Técnico is launching a new online course ‘Operating Systems Fundamentals’.
This online course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts that underpin the functioning of modern operating systems. Aimed at students from areas other than computer engineering, the course explores the main mechanisms and structures used to manage a computer’s resources.
This course presents content organised into four main topics, framing the functionality and history of operating systems, with the mechanism of persistent data storage with files, followed by the concurrent execution of programs and communication between processes running in parallel.
- Access to the course is absolutely free and completely online;
- The contents are always open and each participant takes the course at their own pace;
- The course materials will remain available to those who enrol in it, even after the end of this edition, so that they can return to the content at a later date;
- The oral presentation of the videos is in Portuguese, accompanied by slides in the same language, and the transcripts are accessible.
