The Cloud Data Engineering course aims to provide trainees with a complete and consistent introduction to the area of cloud-based services, in particular based on Microsoft’s Azure platform, which is increasingly being used by companies and public entities in Portugal.
This course has a strong practical component, allowing trainees to consolidate knowledge, which will be used in a group project. At the end of the course, the trainees will be able to take the exams (AZ-900 and DP-900) and obtain the official Microsoft certification.
Today, organisations are increasingly focused on the services they provide to their customers, so the data that supports their operations is increasingly important. In this context, operational data management is critical. The cloud has increasingly become the leading technology for increasing the performance of information systems.
Goals:
- Know the main concepts of “cloud” and “cloud computing” and the benefits of this technology;
- Understand the concepts of Azure Management and Governance, and explore the tools and resources on the platform;
- Know the Azure architecture concepts and the services available;
- Understand the main concepts of data analysis and “Core Data” and learn to work with relational and non-relational data;
- Gather information about data query techniques using SQL language;
- Understand data processing and data ingestion with Azure and explore fundamentals of data visualization with the Microsoft Power BI tool.
