More information and applications.

Deep Learning is inspired by the way the human brain processes information and allows the use of large amounts of data to identify patterns, classify information and make decisions. The Deep Learning course introduces learning based on deep neural networks, addressing the issues of regularization, training and associated optimization. In addition to convolutional networks (CNNs, Convolutional Neural Networks), recurrent networks (RNNs, Recurrent Neural Networks and LSTMs, Long Short Term Memory Networks) are introduced, discussing their different successful applications, along with their interpretability.

This course is part of the Data Science Specialisation Programme for Engineers (DASH), as an optional, and this edition will be taught online, via Zoom.

Target audience
Graduates with prior knowledge of probability, statistics and basic programming, especially those interested in analysing data in a recurrent manner, especially large volumes of complex data, such as images, video, time series and text.

Objectives
At the end of the programme, trainees are expected to be able to:

  • Recognise the applicability of deep networks;
  • Apply deep learning techniques to different types of data;
  • Evaluate the results obtained with the trained models;
  • Address the interpretability of the discovered models.
