Técnico team ranks 3rd at Pixels Camp Security CTF

Three students and a professor from Técnico participated in the biggest national technology event.

The project of Hugo Silva, a former student and current researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações, a research institute at Técnico, ranked 2nd in Pixels Camp’s 48-hour programming competition. One team and four representatives from Técnico – SwaTT – ranked 3rd in Capture the Flag (CTF) coding competition.

Pixels Camp, held last week at LX Factory, successfully succeeded the famous Codebits and is the biggest national technology event. During three days hundreds of participants have the opportunity to attend presentations, workshops and several competitions.

Professor Pedro Adão, from the Department of Computer Science, and the students Afonso Santos, António Lopes and Filipe Casal represented Técnico at CTF, which is aimed at those who are passionate about Web Security, Cryptography and Forensics.

Hugo Silva, together with Paulo Pires and Ricardo Pereira, presented Wolverino project, a multimodal plug & play controller for artificial limbs, human augmentation and/or animatronics pieces, which can use muscle signals or remote control over a mobile app to trigger specific actions on the pieces.
