Professor Martin Ladrø, SEG 2017 Honorary Lecturer, was the invited speaker at the sixth edition of IST Distinguished Lecture Series, held this Monday. He shared his renowned experience, his professional background and research works on seismic inversion and marine seismic acquisition.

The lecture was organised by SEG’s student chapters at Técnico and the public had the opportunity analyse some of the most significant improvements on seismic data acquisition. The researcher stressed the influence of roughness on high frequency data, explaining how the production of low frequencies can be challeging for marine seismic acquisition.

The development of 4D seismic and its related discoveries were also approached during the lecture. Professor Martin Ladrø noted that all the discoveries made in this area “are just in the beginning.”
