Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) ranks 200th place among 1510 higher education institutions evaluated by the National Taiwan University (NTU). ULisboa owes this score, in part, to the fact that it won first place at national level in the fields of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Engineering, with Técnico playing an important role to the latter.
The NTU ranking evaluates a university’s academic performance via comparing the quality and quantity of its scientific papers to other universities, over the last 11 years, based on three criteria – research productivity, research impact and research excellence. The evaluation process is described in detail on the NTU website.
Among the 25 subjects in which it was ranked, Universidade de Lisboa comes out on top in 14, namely:
- Environment/Ecology
- Plant & Animal Science
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Energy Science and Engineering
- Neuroscience & Behavior
- Chemistry
- Geosciences
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Economics & Business
- Social Sciences
As part of Universidade de Lisboa, the scientific production at Técnico will have contributed to the results achieved.
