IST is the national partner of the 2nd annual FuseNet Teacher Training Day, which aims to introduce nuclear fusion to secondary school teachers. The event takes place on 1st October 2021, from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:00.
The domestic session is coordinated by the Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion (IPFN), a research centre at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST).
The day will be split into a domestic session (morning), as well as an international session (afternoon). In the Domestic Session you will have an introduction to Nuclear Fusion in the age of climate change, a presentation of nuclear fusion research in Portugal and a virtual tour to Tokamak ISTTOK (Instituto Superior Técnico).
In the international session there will be a global livestream in which new (free) educational materials will be presented and keynote speakers from the international fusion community give an inside look into the largest scientific collaboration in the world.
