The Awards Ceremony of the “3-Minute Thesis” final competition of Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) will take place on June 27, at 6.30 p.m., in the Great Hall of the Rectorate Building. The ceremony is part of the ULisboa Scientific Seminar Series 2023.

ULisboa promoted for the first time, the “3-Minute Thesis” competition in 2023, challenging its PhD students to explain the impact of their research to a non-specialist audience, in just three minutes and using a single slide.

The final competition took place on 30th May, in the Lisbon Botanic Garden. The three winning students were awarded recognition and merit diplomas, and prizes in the amounts of €5000, €2000 and €1000, to the first, second and third place, respectively.

The ULisboa Scientific Seminar Series 2023 aim to raise awareness and promote the practices of open science among faculty and researchers, science managers, students, and the general public, under the theme “Open Science and Innovation: a collaborative, transparent and accessible approach”. The “3-Minute Thesis” Awards Ceremony will take place at the end of the event.
