«The book “School Architecture in Portugal: Education, Heritage and Challenges”, edited by Alexandra Alegre and Teresa Heitor, will be presented by Isabel Alçada and will have the participation of the editors and authors. This book is the result of the research project “Atlas of School Architecture in Portugal: Education, Heritage and Challenges”, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, which aimed to study school architecture in Portugal, focusing on buildings for secondary and technical schools, promoted under public initiative. With the aim of supporting future interventions in school buildings, it comprised their mapping and study of their transformations over time, based on the reading and interpretation of this space from an interdisciplinary perspective.»
