BrainStorms@Técnico: “Men Talks – How to manage expectations?”

Zoom video conference

Society's expectations, an unattainable model of ideal masculinity and the lack of dialogue between friends have contributed to the silent suffering of men with consequences for academic, emotional performance and relations with the opposite sex.

The Brain Storms initiative promoted by the Student Club on Mental Health and Inclusion – IST, in collaboration with the Academic Development Center (NDA), will organise the next talk on 11th February, at 17:00, via Zoom*.

The speakers of the next talk titled “Men Talks – How to manage expectations?”, are members of Men Talks association.

Society’s expectations, an unattainable model of ideal masculinity and the lack of dialogue between friends have contributed to the silent suffering of men with consequences for academic, emotional performance and relations with the opposite sex. In this talk, the representatives of “Men Talks” association will present the work carried out in the mental health of men and discuss strategies to manage expectations and deal with excess competitiveness, lack of dialogue with other men and overvaluation of stereotypes.

The previous talks are available on YouTube, in Saúde Mental IST.
