The presentation of the book “The Digital Mind” by Professor Arlindo Oliveira, President of Técnico, will take place on May 17, at 6.30 p.m., in FNAC Colombo.
In this book, published by MIT Press, Arlindo Oliveira describes how advances in science and technology could enable us to create digital minds. The author describes technological and scientific advances that range from the discovery of laws that control the behaviour of the electromagnetic fields to the development of computers.
This event will be attended by professor Pedro Guedes de Oliveira (Universidade do Porto), Professor Francisco Veloso (Universidade Católica), Professor Mário Figueiredo (IST) and will be moderated by Mafalda Avelar (journalist and subdirector of Lusa).
