«The outreach workshop “UNITE! Opportunities – Take on your role” will take place on 18 February 2026, at 2.30 p.m., Técnico – Loures Campus (Auditorium), and will be led by the Director for International Affairs at Instituto Superior Técnico, Rui Mendes.
The session aims to present the UNITE! alliance – University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering, which brings together leading European universities in the fields of engineering and technology, promoting opportunities for mobility, international cooperation and innovation in higher education.
The following topics will be addressed during the session:
- Framework and strategic vision of the UNITE! alliance;
- Academic programmes and training initiatives;
- Research, innovation and funding opportunities;
- Mobility, entrepreneurship and capacity building.
The guest speaker, Rui Mendes, is a member of several international networks, including UNITE!, T.I.M.E., CLUSTER and Magalhães. He coordinates Erasmus+ projects and other internationalisation initiatives and, in 2018, founded ´International Experts for Higher Education in Portugal (IEHEP)`, an initiative dedicated to sharing good practices in higher education. He has a degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Statistics and Information Management.
