This course promotes the acquisition of knowledge about decision support and the development of the ability to formulate and resolve decision-making situations in complex and uncertain contexts.
The ability to make effective decisions and contribute to the decision-making process is of vital importance for any engineer and is pointed out by top managers as fundamental for successful management, however, according to Forbes, 98% of managers fail to make decisions.
Since the ability to make decisions is susceptible to education and improvement, this course promotes the acquisition of knowledge about decision support and the development of the ability to formulate and resolve decision-making situations in complex and uncertain contexts. With the support of real application cases and specific software, the participants will learn multicriteria methods for evaluating options, resource allocation methods, participatory group approaches, and methods for analysing, evaluating and managing risks, which will help improve decision-making, both personally and professionally, and deal with complex situations.
The Specialisation Course “Decision Engineering” is part of the Specialisation Programme “Engineering and Management” as a mandatory module. This edition of the course will be online, through Live Sessions via Zoom.
