14 Técnico students selected for one of Europe’s largest idea acceleration programmes

The European Innovation Academy takes place over three weeks and is supported by Fundação Santander.

Fourteen Técnico students have been selected to represent the school in the prestigious European Innovation Academy (EIA) programme, taking place in Porto over three weeks, until August 8. This participation is supported by Fundação Santander, a member of the Técnico Partner Network, which awarded exclusive scholarships to ensure access to this transformative experience.

The EIA is one of Europe’s largest idea acceleration programmes, promoting collaboration among students, mentors, investors, and professionals from major tech companies. Throughout the programme, participants have the opportunity to explore the full journey from idea creation to startup transformation, contributing to an intense experience of collaborative innovation, global entrepreneurship, and multidisciplinary development in technology, design, marketing, and product.

The selected students were: Afonso Sousa and Francisco Livraghi (Undergraduate Programme in Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering); Bruno Semião (Undergraduate Programme in Engineering Physics); David Sánchez (Master’s Programme in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering); Dominik-Luis Forster; Filipe Vasconcelos and Mullib Mulessiua (Master’s Programme in Civil Engineering); Inês Costa (Undergraduate Programme in Electrical and Computer Engineering); Joana Peixinho (Master’s Programme in Computer Science and Engineering); Mafalda Pereira (Master’s Programme in Biomedical Engineering); Maria Raquel Oliveira (Master’s Programme in Engineering and Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship); Marta Nunes (Master’s Programme in Environmental Engineering); Simão Ribeiro (Undergraduate Programme in Computer Science and Engineering); and Sofia Fernandes (Diploma of Advanced Studies in Materials Engineering at Técnico).
