1st Edition of BreakingDev at Taguspark campus

The programming competition organised by NEETI last weekend was a success.

The first edition of BreakingDev, a programming competition organised by NEETI-IST – Student Group of Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering at Técnico, took place last weekend at Taguspark campus.

During 48 hours, the teams were free to develop their own project in one of two categories (Web or Games). At the end, the jury composed of representatives from companies (all of them former students of Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering) selected four of the five awards: the Crowd Award was selected by votes of the participants themselves.

The project “Snack Overflow” won the Web category and also the Innovation Award; the team “Mara Studios” won the category Games; the A+ Challenge Award, which distinguished the most rewarding project for the academic community was awarded to “Radom” team; finally, the Crowd Award was awarded to “Santiagus” team.

According to the organising team “these were three unforgettable days of work and few hours of sleep”. The main purpose is to keep this project and organise a second edition.
