Taguspark campus welcomes new students

More than 150 new students have visited Taguspark campus until this Wednesday. The students had the opportunity to get to know other students and the campus, and to learn more about the courses.

Telecommunications and Informatics was Henrique Vaz’s first choice course. His father works in this field and aroused Henrique’s curiosity about it. “Furthermore, it is an area that is developing a lot, everything is online nowadays”, says the new student.

“Systems and robotics have always fascinated me”, says Francisca Rodrigues. Her desire to study Electronics Engineering made her choose Técnico. She ended up follow in her father’s footsteps who also studied here and who told him a lot about his experience. “I hope I enjoy my studies at Técnico and I hope to adapt well to this new reality”, says Francisca Rodrigues. “This is a smaller campus, but very cozy, so I think it will make a difference”, she adds.

Pedro Barão entered Telecommunications and Informatics although he had also applied for Mechanical Engineering. “I like both courses and I feel really comfortable with this result”. “I chose Técnico for its national and international prestige”. “I think that all those who want to follow Engineering should always consider Técnico”.

The new student knows that a hard journey awaits him, namely due to the pandemic that has changed everything, especially education. However, Pedro Barão sees problems as opportunities: “I think that this can also be a way of renewing teaching methods. We can stake a lot on things that were already being thought and now make even more sense like distance learning”.

The visits to Taguspark campus ended this Thursday, but the welcome programme continues this Friday afternoon, including an online welcome session, followed by the presentation of the various courses.
