A survey conducted by Instituto Superior Técnico among alumni (2nd cycle) from the 2021/22 academic year reveals that Técnico graduates earn, on average, a net monthly salary of 1,839 euros, with 97.7% of graduates in paid employment. The survey was conducted between March and September 2024, and collected responses from 517 alumni.
Most graduates (78.7%), are in paid employment, with approximately half (50.5%) working in consultancy, scientific, and technical fields.
Among those employed, a significant 73.2% hold open-ended (permanent) contracts, indicating that the majority of Técnico graduates secure stable and solid employment shortly after entering the job market.
In terms of international opportunities, 23.2% of Técnico graduates from the 2021/22 academic year are working abroad, either for international employers while based in Portugal or having relocated overseas. The Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium are the top destinations, accounting for 40.9% of graduates working internationally.
