Axians joins the Técnico Partner Network

The ceremony took place last Wednesday, February 1, at Instituto Superior Técnico.

Axians officially joined the Técnico Partner Network last Wednesday, February 1st. The ceremony took place at the Faraday Museum, in Instituto Superior Técnico.

The company will be involved in the IST job fair (Job Shop), organised by AEIST, in outreach activities between students and companies (talent search meeting), as well as the development of more and better talent, with an emphasis on support for a learning space, specifically one of the largest laboratories of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

“The training of our students has to keep pace with the scientific and technological changes that occur. It makes no sense that Técnico projects stay in a closed bubble, it only makes sense if we put them at the service of society and economy. The Partner Network and collaborative partnerships are, therefore, pivotal for Técnico”, said the President of Técnico, professor Rogério Colaço, during the ceremony.

“We are very pleased to sign this protocol. It is very important for Axians to invest in talent, not only in the people who work with us, but also in institutions, and Técnico is a very prestigious school at international level”, said Dr. Carmo Palma, Managing Director at Axians.

“The first responsibility of what we produce in this School, the best engineering school in Portugal and one of the best at international level, lies with the students because when they leave Técnico they will have to monetize what they were taught”, pointed out the CEO at VINCI Energies Portugal, Dr. Pedro Afonso.

The ceremony was also attended by the Técnico professors Miguel Pupo Correia (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), Luís Miguel Silveira (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering), Ilídio Lopes (Department of Physics), and Matilde Narciso (Vice-President of Técnico Students’ Union), the Vice-President of Técnico for Operations and Corporate Partnerships, professor Pedro Amaral and the Technology Transfer Area team, as well as Tiago Roxo, Catarina Macedo and Margarida Moitinho from Axians.
