Feedzai joins Técnico Partner Network

Representatives of both entities signed a protocol on mutual cooperation that will result in various activities.

Técnico Partner Network continues to captivate national and international renowned companies. Feedzai joined Técnico partner network, this Monday, September 30th. The ceremony was attended by representatives of both entities.

“This partnership with Feedzai was formed very quickly due to the company’s commitment and this makes us very happy”, said the President of Técnico, professor Arlindo Oliveira. “We believe that this partnership will be fruitful for both parties”, he added.

The president of Técnico highlighted the various initiatives that will be carried out under this partnership, namely: Feedzai’s access to Career Weeks and Técnico Job Bank; the creation of a computer lab for students; two annual MSc scholarships and one PhD scholarship; and the creation of a merit award. Mário Figueiredo, Full Professor at Técnico, will give a Chair on Machine Learning under this partnership. “I am happy to see that companies are wishing to become members of our partner network, recognising the importance of a deeper relationship with our school”, shared professor Arlindo Oliveira.

According to Pedro Bizarro, co-founder and Chief Science Officer at Feedzai, “Técnico is an outstanding university that is acclaimed both nationally and abroad”. “Feedzai has always invested in engineering and science. Paulo Marques (also Feedzai founder) and I were professors at the University of Coimbra, so we are working in the field of science for many years. I welcome this kind of collaboration, and it’s good to feel that we are helping to fund science, retain top talent in Portugal and contribute for a better training in national universities”, stressed Pedro Bizarro. “I think that this partnership will be fruitful for Técnico and Feedzai”, he added.

Feedzai was founded in 2008 and it’s the market leader in fighting fraud with Artificial Intelligence (AI), through risk monitoring, anomaly detection and fraud prevention. According to Forbes, Feedzai ranks 15th in the top 50 America’s Most Promising Artificial Intelligence Companies. The Portuguese startup has offices in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Silicon Valley, New York and London, and has raised US $ 82 million (about €74 million). Feedzai is currently valued at US $ 575 million (about €521 million).
