Clynx wins GovTech

The startup created by four Técnico alumni was one of the winners of GovTech.

For the second consecutive year, GovTech rewarded innovative products and services of Startups addressing at least one of the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Clynx was one of 6 startups selected by the jury and the public for the final phase of the contest among 54 projects. Clynx was the 3rd most voted project, receiving a prize of €30,000.

“Our team is very happy and proud to be one of three winning startups at GovTech”, says Joana Pinto, project manager at Clynx. This award will give the “made at Técnico” startup a greater support to continue to grow. “Some of our priorities will be investing in resources that enable faster and more efficient development of our physiotherapy solutions and contact with more clinical entities, as well as expanding the team”. Clynx aims to make physiotherapy an enjoyable experience.

Joana Pinto shares: “The final event was very successful for Clynx” as “we were able to expose our gains to the jury by demonstrating our solution”. “The fact that we already collaborate with some clinics and hospitals has lend credibility to our project” says the Técnico alumna. Although there was no time for in-depth feedback/mentoring sessions, the event allowed the team to contact with the jury members, “through presenting ourselves and, at the same time, collecting reactions and opinions”, says the project manager.

The team has been improving its business solution and strategy, “based on the feedback and on the results of the first pilot test, which took place at CUF Alvalade”, shares Joana Pinto.

“This year we aim to complete the validation process of our upper limb physiotherapy solution and keep approaching the market by contacting and collaborating with more clinics interested in the development and quality of their physiotherapy services”, reveals the project manager at Clynx. The Técnico alumni still have some goals related to the development of other solutions and applications in the area of physical therapy and hope to continue extending the team. “Finally, one of the most relevant goals of this year will be the product commercialisation”, concludes Joana Pinto.
