Fun and learning during the Physics Week

NFIST aims to excite students’ curiosity and fascination for physics through various activities and scientific demonstrations.

The physics student group at Técnico (NFIST) organised the 22nd edition of Physics Week at Alameda campus. This year’s edition brought together hundreds of students from all ages and from different parts of the country.

“The wonderful world of physics” was this year’s edition motto. The participants had the opportunity to learn more about classical physics, electromagnetism and particles, relativity and quantum mechanics, and to attend workshops, planetarium sessions, lab visits, lectures and to visit an exhibition held in the main building.

According to Bernardo Barbosa, member of the organising team, “we want to excite participants’ curiosity and encourage them to study physics”. “We want to engage students and make learning fun”, he adds.

About 2500 students from all over the country had the opportunity to be part of this experience. An open day for the general public will take place on the last day of the event, 23rd February.
