The Industrial Engineering and Management student group (NEEGI) organised the 6th Industrial Engineering and Management Seminar Series (EGI Seminar Series), held at Taguspark campus, from 9th to 11th March 2022. This year’s edition included the Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) Conference, an annual and international conference organised by the European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management (ESTIEM), allowing to extend its reach. “We think that including the IEM conference in EGI seminar series is an added value because companies are able to reach a wider audience”, stresses Inês Serol, member of the organising team.
This Thursday, March 10, the day started with a workshop by the Técnico alumnus Hans Remmer and Inês Lourenço, both collaborators at Lidl, who shared information about the logistics department and Lidl’s commitment to sustainability.
Inês Serol shares positive feedback: “We had very interesting lectures and we managed to keep students engaged”.
The EGI seminar series run until next Friday, March 11, and include several lectures – “Implementing Lean methodology in organisations”, “Digital Transformation in Operations”, “Circular Economy”, “Blockchain, Data & AI and 5G and their applications in everyday life”. Afonso Ravasco, Técnico alumnus and founder of Trash4Goods (T4G), will give a lecture titled “How to be a sustainable entrepreneur”.
This Tuesday, the usual business fair brought together Lidl, Deloitte, Accenture, Worten, Técnico Solar Boat (TSB) and JUNITEC.
