JEEC attracted large audience

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Seminar Series included several activities and brought together renowned speakers from this engineering branch.

The 19th edition of Electrical and Computer Engineering Seminar Series (JEEC) took place from 11th to 15th March at Alameda campus. Konstantinos Laskaris, Chief Motor Designer at Tesla, gave a lecture in the last day. ” We were more or less expecting a big crowd today”, says Catarina Amaro, coordinator of JEEC’s organisation team. “We couldn’t believe when we received Konstantinos Laskaris e-mail confirmation”, she adds. “The feedback we get from the speakers and the large audience make this edition very positive”, stresses Catarina Amaro.

Entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, smart grids, computer engineering and many other areas of Electrical and Computer Engineer were the key topics addressed in the several lectures, job fair, workshops, discussion panels and tech talks. “This year we were able to organise more diverse activities and to gather a wide range of companies, which has enriched our program,” says Catarina Amaro.

Microsoft, Talkdesk, Deloitte, Novabase and Vodafone were among the 40 companies represented in this event. The companies’ representatives provided information about job opportunities and clarified students’ doubts.

“Our goal is that JEEC can keep this massive attendance and the good reputation year after year. I think that these goals have been achieved this year”, says Catarina Amaro.
