Meeting of Student Groups Forum returns to in-person format

This initiative, which aims to bring together the Técnico Student Groups and Clubs that are part of the Forum, has not been held in-person for almost three years and was eagerly awaited.

The 14th Meeting of Student Groups Forum took place last Thursday, 22nd September 2022. This initiative, which aims to bring together the Técnico Student Groups and Clubs that are part of the Forum, has not been held in-person for almost three years and was eagerly awaited.

Professor Pedro Amaral, Vice-president of Técnico For Operations and Corporate Partnerships, congratulated the students for their work and highlighted the importance of the Student Groups, “the student groups and clubs are the heartbeat of the activities developed at Técnico. “We are responsible for the success of our institution and you are the sum of this success”.

Leonor Matos, student member of the Executive Commission of the Pedagogical Council, and Gonçalo Mamede, President of Técnico Students’ Union (AEIST), congratulated the student groups and clubs for helping students at an academic level and for being the driving force of the institution. “I don’t see any university with such engagement in terms of students associations as Técnico”, said Gonçalo Mamede. “The importance of Técnico student groups and Clubs is something unparalleled in our country”.

Beatriz Mendes, coordinator of the Corporate Partnerships Unit and Carla Patrocínio, Head of the Technology Transfer Office, shared important information, namely the initiatives to support the activities of the student groups and clubs – the CA2ECTécnico awards and the TecInnov Santander Competitions. The importance of Técnico Career Center and the Técnico Alumni platform was also highlighted.
