Last Friday, October 12, Instituto Superior Técnico and Junta de Freguesia do Areeiro (JFA) signed a collaboration protocol in which JFA will support entrepreneurial projects developed by Técnico students.

The Programme “AreeiroEmpreende”, launched by the Professional Insertion Office at JFA will support ideas that can become a business model and add value to the local community. The projects must focus on the following strategic areas: Active Aging; Health in the 3rd age/Geriatrics; Mobility; Smart Cities/Ecological Cities; Local market; Municipal services; Civic participation. Up to €5000 (five thousand euros) will be awarded to each selected project. There is also the possibility to develop partnerships in order to implement the project.

The president of JFA reiterated that “this partnership will bring benefits to JFA”. According to the president of Técnico, professor Arlindo Oliveira “very interesting and promising ideas will come up from this partnership”.
