The 4th edition of Physics Seminar Series will take place on 1st and 2nd March at Abreu Faro amphitheatre, located in the Interdisciplinary Building – Instituto Superior Técnico. During two days, the participants will have the opportunity to hear, speak and think about physics.

Professor Arlindo Oliveira, President of IST, attended the opening session and highlighted the importance of this event once “it allows to debate physics with renowned professionals, many of them linked to Técnico”.

The president of the Department of Physics, professor Luis Alves, also attended the event and noted that this project will “expand ideas” and is “an opportunity to debate the present and the future”.

This year’s edition will include lectures and “Dia da Carreira do LIP”, an event where several researchers who carried out their research at LIP will share their experience. “Coffee with Physicist” will allow students to share ideas with researchers and professors from several fields of physics,

The “Inside Views” will take place on the second day and will offer students a guided and exclusive visit to a research centre at IST. These visits will allow students to interact with the teamwork research.

A poster contest was launched today and will run until March 26, aiming to reward the best posters presentations.
