Professor Moisés Piedade, retired professor at Técnico/ Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC), and researcher at INESC-ID for several decades, was recently honoured by INESC-ID, with the title of Emeritus Researcher, on the occasion of its 20th Scientific Council Plenary Meeting.

According to the INESC-ID website, this title is awarded in “recognition and tribute for his work and the dedication of a lifetime to Teaching, Researching and his contribution to Electrical Engineering”.

“I am very honoured to receive this recognition from INESC and Técnico. I accepted this honour on behalf of all those who helped me: my parents, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, IST, INESC, AMRAD [Portuguese Association of Radio Amateurs for Research, Education and Development] the exceptional professors and students with whom I had the opportunity to contact and who have shaped me”, says professor Moisés Piedade.
