Six Técnico students renew their AXIANS scholarships

The AXIANS - Business For @ll scholarship programme has continued its partnership with Técnico, allowing students to continue their academic journey.

On 7 November, six students from Instituto Superior Técnico saw their AXIANS – Business For @ll 2025/2026 scholarship contracts renewed. The ceremony took place at Técnico – Alameda Campus, in the Civil Engineering Museum.

“We [the scholarship recipients] want to give back for the support we are receiving because it motivates and inspires us to strive for more, so that we can help others in the same way in the future”, said Carlos dos Reis, one of the scholarship holders, summing up the feeling of gratitude expressed by all the Técnico students at the renewal ceremony.

Francisco Melo, the Vice-President of Técnico for Academic Affairs, said that the scholarship is “very important for students as it allows them to continue their academic journey” and thanked AXIANS for the support.

The AXIANS representatives noted how rewarding it is to contribute to the education of these students. Marco Teixeira, Business Unit General Manager, said that “there is a sense of hope, a sense that it is worthwhile. Organisations are doing what they should be doing: supporting those in need”. Carla Madeira, Business Unit Manager, added that this is “one of the projects” they are most proud to support. “We talk about it a lot throughout the year”, she shared, emphasising that the important thing is that students chart their own course: “Every step you take may not be perfect, but each step is still taken”.

The event was also attended by Paula Lopes Fragata, Finance Manager at AXIANS Portugal, and three Técnico professors: Paulo Correia (Coordinator of the Undergraduate Programme in Electrical and Computer Engineering), Rui Valadas (Coordinator of the Undergraduate Programme in Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering) and Margarida Diogo (Coordinator of the Undergraduate Programme in Biomedical Engineering).

The scholarship is aimed at Electrical and Computer Engineering students (undergraduate and master’s programmes), Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering (undergraduate and master’s programmes) and Electronics Engineering (undergraduate and master’s programmes). Exceptionally, there is also a student of Biomedical Engineering (undergraduate and master’s programmes) receiving the scholarship.
