The swearing-in ceremony of the heads of Departments of Instituto Superior Técnico took place on 8 January, at Técnico – Alameda campus. The ceremony was chaired by the president of Técnico, Rogério Colaço.
Four heads of department renew their terms of office: Ilídio Lopes (Department of Physics), José Mourão (Department of Mathematics), João Pedro Conde (Department of Bioengineering) and Katharina Lorenz (Department of Nuclear Sciences and Engineering).
The new heads of Department are Ana Teresa Freitas (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), Henrique Matos (Department of Chemical Engineering), José Figueira (Department of Engineering and Management), Luís Oliveira Martins (Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environment), Nuno Horta (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) and Paulo Fernandes (Department of Mechanical Engineering).
Rogério Colaço will be the interim head of the Department of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering.
The terms of office are valid for the next two years, except the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Mathematics, which have four-year terms.
