The celebrations of the 16th anniversary of Taguspark campus – Instituto Superior Técnico, took place this Monday, bringing together hundreds of students, professors and staff.
Professor Luís M. Correia, vice-president of Técnico for the Management of Taguspark campus, opened the ceremony and noted the initiative held on Saturday, which gathered a group of volunteers to clean up the campus.
“As you all may know, I invited the school community to come and clean up the campus”, said the professor, while showing images of the campus cleaned up. “We are committed to reducing waste next year. I am counting on the support of all school community for that.”
During the celebrations Pedro Rey (student) presented a voice and guitar recital, and took the opportunity to note that the school’s goal “is not only to train engineers, it’s to train men and women”.
“It is a pleasure to be here, at a time when engineering is increasingly becoming the most important field of study. The society recognises the important value that engineering brings into the economy and, therefore, the value of our school.”, said professor Arlindo Oliveira, president of Técnico, who also attended the ceremony.
The professor also pointed out “the excellent training offer” at Taguspark campus. “I would like to congratulate you and thank you for making this campus, and Técnico, a top engineering school.”
