Cristina Fonseca and Luísa Buinhas are among the Top 100: Europe’s most influential women in the startup and venture capital space

The Técnico alumnae Cristina Fonseca (Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering) and Luísa Buinhas (Aerospace Engineering) are among the Top 100 Europe’s most influential women in the startup and venture capital space. The list was prepared by EU-Startups, the leading online magazine about startups in Europe, and released this Tuesday, March 8, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

The list usually includes 50 names, but this year distinguishes 100 inspiring women who “are shaking things up”, as a way of celebrating the vast female talent in these fields.

Cristina Fonseca is co-founder of Talkdesk, a cloud-based call center software provider and Portugal’s third unicorn. She is currently partner at Indico Capital Partners, the leading independent Venture Capital firm in Portugal investing in global technology companies. She served on the Global Agenda Council on Europe, and was recognised as a 30 under 30 in Enterprise Technology by Forbes.

Luísa Buinhas, co-founder of Vyoma, graduated from Técnico in Aerospace Engineering and got her Master’s degree from the TU Delft in the same engineering field. She completed her PhD at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces. She is an Aerospace Engineer specialising in mission analysis, design and trajectory optimization for spacecraft formation missions. Vyoma plans to build and operate an innovative, satellite-based observation system for space debris monitoring.
