Técnico alumnus included in Forbes 30 Under 30 list

Francisco Lopes was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 2022 North America list, in the “Marketing&Advertisement” category.

Francisco Lopes, Engineering Physics alumnus and co-founder of LINK Agency, is named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 2022 North America list. The alumnus was named together with his partner Francisco Schmidberger, in the “Marketing&Advertisement” category.

“It is a great honour to be part of the Forbes 30 under 30 North America list”, says Francisco Lopes. “This award recognises the work of our team and we hope to continue innovating with our customers”, he adds.

In 2019, Francisco Lopes and Francisco Schmidberger, aged 29 and 27 respectively, founded LINK, a TikTok creative agency.

Francisco Lopes graduated in Engineering Physics from Técnico. He completed his degree with an outstanding final grade (20/20). Before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, he did research on black holes at CENTRA. He became aware of the potential of digital content at the time he launched the “Portal da Sabedoria”, an education technology startup with e-learning solutions for high school and college students, including classroom instruction and online tutoring matchmaking services, which started out as a YouTube channel. After spending some time at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), he flew to Los Angeles and became a business angel and investor in Firefly, named as one of TIME’s Best Inventions (2019).

After doing an MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) in California, the Técnico alumnus decided to create his own startup, in partnership with his friend Francisco Schmidberger. The LINK Agency specializes in data-driven, short form advertising optimized for the attention span of the TikTok generation.

The list is issued annually on December 1 by Forbes magazine, and aims to honour and make known the most influential personalities, under the age of 30, in different industries, such as sports, entertainment, technology and many others.

The first edition of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list was published a decade ago, with a very clear objective: to highlight the innovative young people who are redefining what it means to innovate and lead by example.
