An “open door” for a more intense collaboration between Técnico and the Lisbon School of Architecture, which can be extended to different domains and research areas, benefiting both institutions, their professors, researchers and students. That is how the president of Técnico, professor Rogério Colaço, and the president of the Lisbon School of Architecture (FA), professor Carlos Coelho, described the collaboration protocol signed this Wednesday, February 16.
“The two institutions complement each other and, together, we are greater than the sum of our parts. This is the primary goal of this protocol”, highlighted professor Rogério Colaço. “Students at both institutions will promote the exchange of ideas, knowledge sharing and different types of collaboration”, he added.
“When we find common interests that benefit both parties, we should go forward”, said professor Carlos Coelho, who also stressed the importance of “knowing how to reconcile complementary training in order to make a positive impact on society”.
This protocol establishes and deepens cooperation between Técnico and FA with regard to joint supervision of projects developed within the scope of course units and final year dissertations. The document foresees some research areas with research opportunities for each of the parties, and includes the possibility that Técnico students attend, without additional costs, course units included in dissertations taught at FA, and vice versa.
