The Energy Initiative at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST-EI), coordinated by professor Paulo Ferrão (DEM/IST; IN +), is a cross-cutting platform involving IST faculty and researchers.
IST-EI, in coordination with the IST Governing Board, is proposing a new challenge: the transformation of the three campuses into a living lab – the “Campus As a Living Lab for Energy (CALL for Energy)”. Everyone is invited to design, develop, test and implement new climate-neutral technologies and solutions, in a new co-creation environment that systematically integrates research and innovation, campus infrastructure management and education, seeking funding and involving companies, in order to make these activities possible.
This effort fits in with the main aim of the European Green Deal – to become climate-neutral by 2050. Técnico will thus contribute actively to this aim involving society, the economic sectors and other scientific and technological partners, producing knowledge, educating the protagonists of the energy transition and leading by example.
Join the Energy Initiative and the CALL for Energy and bring us your idea, so that we can work together on it! (IST-EI will use your personal data to send you the communications about CALL for Energy and not for any other purposes).
Técnico Living Lab
The Energy Initiative (IST-EI) will provide a platform to deepen new ideas through a co-creation process, and through the development and testing of new technologies and services, aiming to contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable society.
The Técnico Living Lab is user-centred, focusing on Education, Research, Collaboration and Infrastructures.
