The first Welcome Day for Technical and Administrative Staff (provisional name*) took place on 4th November, at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC).
For the first time, Técnico organised a welcoming event for Technical and Administrative Staff, and Grantees. This event follows the Welcome Sessions that the Human Resources Division (HRD) has been holding at the beginning of each month. These events happen in the month in which the employee starts working at Técnico and include the signing of the contract, a general presentation of the School and a Campus tour, explained Ana Lucas, coordinator of the Training and Development Unit (NFD).
“Bring new perspectives, new ways of doing things, innovation”, said professor Helena Geirinhas Ramos, Vice-President for Administrative Management, at the opening session.
At the end of the day, the new employee Joana Velez (Admissions Office), highlighted the importance of “having information on our side” and made an appeal: “these initiatives should be done frequently, not only at the beginning”.
The initiative – which brought together 23 speakers representing all Técnico’s Divisions and Units, and APIST – was attended by 17 Technical and Administrative Staff from 13 different units of the three campuses.
*The official name will be suggested by the participants and put to vote in the HRD newsletter.
