On 14 October, Instituto Superior Técnico and the British Council renewed their protocol to award 20 scholarships to 20 Técnico students. In the past four editions, the British Council has awarded 80 scholarships.
The protocol was signed at Técnico by Rogério Colaço, president of Instituto Superior Técnico, and Richard Fleming, director of the British Council Portugal, who said that the institution tries to ‘identify groups where it can make a difference’. Instituto Superior Técnico was the first Portuguese higher education institution with which the British organisation established a protocol of this nature.
The courses will take place in-person between January and June 2025 at the British Council’s premises.
The call for applications for British Council English courses will open by the end of October. These scholarships aim to support students in financial need. The English level test is taken online at the time of application.
