Técnico+ successfully launches its first course

The first edition of the Specialization Course on Privacy and Data Protection for non-tech professionals achieved a high participation rate and captivated the trainees.

Last Monday, October 22, professor José Tribolet warmly welcomed the participants of the first edition of the Specialization Course on Privacy and Data Protection for non-tech professionals. The course will last four days and it’s part of a set of courses that Técnico+ will provide.

“We will give you some key concepts that will allow you to understand the responsibilities of a DPO (Data Protection Officer) and to look in a different way at the obligations of the other team members”, said professor José Tribolet, who will give the first module of the course. “The ethical mission of engineering is to give people tools so that they know how to succeed”, he added. Always encouraging the participation of the trainees, professor José Tribolet explained that this course and engineering aims “to give people the tools so that they can play their role in the best way”.

The training programme provided the trainees with key knowledge that will strengthen their skills in the areas of data protection and information security. The professionals had the opportunity to become aware of some cybersecurity vulnerabilities and to learn more about cybersecurity incident response plans.

Lara Feio is graduated in engineering and decided to attend this course to enhance her expertise in the area. “I came from Braga just to attend this course and I don’t regret it at all”, she shares. “I think that this course is a great asset and covers a wide range of topics”, she adds. Nuno Pereira shares Lara’s opinion: “It was well worth it. I would probably further extend the course´s length so that we could have more time to consolidate knowledge”. “As a DPO of a set of public and private entities I think it is extremely important to invest in this type of training, namely in courses provided by Técnico”, he said.
