The Water Testing Laboratory at Instituto Superior Técnico (LAIST) was honoured on World Water Day, March 22nd, by the Associação Portuguesa dos Industriais de Águas Minerais Naturais e de Nascente (APIAM), in Lisbon, as part of its 60th anniversary “for the excellent services provided” to this industry, according to APIAM.

Ricardo Santos, representing LAIST at the event, believes that “this distinction reflects everyone’s efforts” as well as “the technical quality and the top professionals” that make up this Laboratory”.

Also honoured on the same occasion was the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology.

For over 100 years, LAIST has been conducting water characterisation and monitoring for various purposes – public supply, irrigation, and industry – among others. LAIST also conducts applied research in its area of expertise.
