Técnico welcomes hundreds of new students

Mobility students, master's students, and students who applied through other special competitions visited the Técnico campuses this week.

Hundreds of new students – Mobility students, master’s students, and students who applied through other special competitions – visited the Alameda and Taguspark campuses this week, scheduled by specific dates.

During the campus visit, students are guided by a mentor, who will help them to discover the campus facilities, visit Santander and CGD exhibition stands, contact with some of the student groups and AEIST.

“I am very excited to be part of a School of Excellence”, says the new MSc student Wilson Dias (Information Security and Cyberspace Law). “This MSc degree is, undoubtedly, the most highly regarded, so my decision was easy. I feel like I’m going to learn a lot here”, he stresses.

After attending the Biological Engineering course (1st cycle) at Técnico, Beatriz Ribeiro decided to pursue the MSc in Energy Engineering and Management. “I think it was really important that Técnico has implemented a new teaching model, which consequently has opened up new possibilities. I really wanted to enter this master’s degree”, she said.

The new MSc students Ana Soares (Spatial Planning and Urbanism), Ana Alves (Chemistry) and Micaela Pais (Architecture) shared the same mentor. “I considered several possibilities, but the MSc degree at Técnico was the one that pleased me the most. In addition, the prestige of Técnico has also influenced my decision, as well as the fact that it is located in Lisbon, so it could be a gateway for better opportunities”, declares Ana Alves, who completed her degree at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto.

Micaela Pais comes from South Africa. She chose Técnico because of its reputation and because “the course is taught in English”. “I am committed to studying a lot”, she says.
