On 7 May, Técnico hosted a co-creation workshop in partnership with Brisa and ISTartLab, an innovation laboratory at Técnico that promotes innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit among students, researchers and professors. This workshop was part of the preparations for TecInnov | Brisa Edition, aiming to engage participants with the topics to be explored in the programme while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and the practical application of their skills to real-world challenges.
The session featured insights from five specialists, each presenting specific challenges from their areas of expertise: João Marques Lima (Maintenance – Solving Problems before they occur), Pedro Botelheiro (Tools – No-Problem Payments), Jorge Lopes (Sustainability – Green Highway), Teresa Santo (Security – Early Warnings), and Hélder Curado (People – Training for Complex Situations).
Participants were divided into groups, each focusing on one of the presented topics. They began by defining their challenges using the Canvas model and then made them visible by building symbolic representations with LEGO pieces.
Each team presented their challenge to the other groups, promoting discussion and the exchange of ideas. In the final stage of the session, participants worked on developing innovative solutions to the identified problems and concluded the workshop with another round of group presentations.
