Tekever has raised €20 million

The company will use the funding to expand its business.

Tekever, a company that is part of the IST Spin-Off Community, has raised €20 million in an investment round. Ventura Capital led the round, with participation from Iberis Capital and other strategic investors. The company will use the funding to accelerate its global expansion, explore new business areas and invest in research and development.

Tekever was founded in 2001, by 3 Técnico alumni – Pedro Sinogas, Ricardo Medes and Vítor Cristina. Today, the company is the European market leader in Unmanned Aerial Systems for Maritime Surveillance.

The company designs, develops and sells products in different technological areas including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), information and mobility systems, and space industry.

In the Digital area, TEKEVER is involved in some of the most emblematic and award-winning mobile systems in our country, such as: Santander’s Mobile Banking, myCUF, ePark and GIRA, the Lisbon’s public bicycle sharing system.

Tekever is one of the main providers of satellite communications services in Europe and leads several national strategic projects, namely the “INFANTE” project, whose objective is the development and demonstration in orbit of a precursor for microsatellite constellations for maritime applications. INFANTE is the first satellite fully developed and built by the Portuguese industry.

Tekever’s business is essentially international and focuses specifically on developing AI for drones and Satellite Systems and Technologies. The European Maritime Security Agency (EMSA) and the United Kingdom’s Home Office are some of Tekever’s customers.
